Laurie Strode’s FanVid of the Week

In an attempt to put out more stuff, for thats what one should do when they are a writer, I am going to be making weekly lists, recommendations, or things like that. This one is going to be my weekly FanVid of the week, its the video I think is worth watching. These will only be videos made by others to movies, video games, or tv shows, something to kill the time watching.

Fanvids have been around for a long time, and were said to start with Kirk and Spock on VHS, and traded among fans. Times have changed, and we now have youtube. You can watch all kinds of fanvids, ranging from Angel and Buffy to Barney and Robin, with all kinds of music, clips, and edits in between. There are all kinds, and I am here to showcase one a week.

This week I went with

Counting Bodies Like Sheep – Grace Andrews; The Hitcher

This is a Character Piece on Grace Andrews from the 2007 remake of The Hitcher. She is a personal favorite character as mine (Though I always tend to love the badass chick. Hense the name), I tend to favor the remake version, as the original gets her guts pulled out!

The song playing is Counting Bodies like Sheep to the Rythem of the War Drums by A Perfect Circle. This song is strong becuase of both the lyrics and the rythem. Released on the Emotive CD by them, it was a sequel to the song Pet, and has a very strong message. I reccomd listening to it away from this clip, as to get the whole feeling of it.

This video is a personal favorite, as the editing is very well done. Most beats hit dead on with what the creater wants, and you really get into it. The best thing about this video is how much effort was put into it. You can really feel the music in it! This was most likely edited with Sony Vegas 7, which is a very good system if you ever get the chance to use it.

Thats all for this weeks video, stayed tuned for more music, clips, and of course your lovely Laurie!

  1. I’ve never really watched these before, but this was a good one to start with. Loved The Hitcher, though to me Ryder himself was the key character, because he was something very different from the traditional villain in these types of movies. Badass, but in a calm, rational sort of way.

As for the video itself, the song was a good choice, and you’re totally right about the way the clips sync very well with the notes.

  2. Wow I just teleported in here to test out something and found my buddy Laurie_Strode wrote a good article… well done buddy! You found yourself a series!

  3. As promised….
    I’m commenting!
I’m too drunk to have followed that video overly well, but it seemed pretty well put together, and the beat was cool.

And because I (even while drunk) can’t read without editing: it’s “rhythm.”

  4. another amazing one

  5. where is the rest of the stalker tho you are killing me
